October 29, 2023: Global payment leader Mastercard has joined hands with MoonPay, a crypto payment platform. The big news came out on October 25. The two companies want to use special Web3 tools.
These tools will make marketing better and help Mastercard talk to its customers in new ways.
The two companies told everyone about their partnership at the Money20/20 event in Las Vegas. Keith Grossman, who is in charge of big projects at MoonPay, and Raja Rajamannar from Mastercard shared the exciting plans.
They aim to make new and better experiences for customers using Web3. MoonPay will add its own smart things to Mastercard’s existing things. They will use tools like “Click to Pay,” Mastercard Send, and Mastercard Crypto Credentials. These tools make sure that all money things are done the right way.
Adam Polansky, who talks about Web3 for Mastercard, said he is very happy about this team-up. Elizabeth Taylor, who makes partnerships for Mastercard, also said they are looking forward to cool new things happening.
Mastercard is not new to the world of Web3. They have been trying many new things in this space. They even worked with other companies like MetaMask and Ledger to explore more.
Last year, Mastercard started a program with Paxos to let banks do things with crypto money. They also worked with Coinbase and MoonPay before to do more in Web3 and with special digital things called NFTs.
MoonPay is also bringing its other company called Otherlife into this partnership. Otherlife will help by giving Web3 creative help and other services.
Ivan Soto-Wright, the main person at MoonPay, said, “We’re excited to team up with Mastercard. They really like Web3 and the new digital world. We want to make customers feel special and more involved.”
This big move shows that Web3 is becoming very important. It also shows that big money companies want to be part of the new digital world.
